Mix the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, and salt together.
Press into the bottom of a small casserole dish to create the crust.
Beat the cream cheese until it is softened and smooth.
Slowly mix in the sugar, vanilla, and heavy whipping cream.
Mix until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk the pudding mix and milk together for about 2 minutes.
Pour the pudding into cream cheese mixture and mix until smooth.
Pour half of the pudding mixture into the casserole dish, then layer with half of the sliced bananas and half of the vanilla wafers.
Add the remaining pudding mixture, a layer of the remaining sliced bananas, and a layer of the remaining vanilla wafers.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Make sure that the cream cheese is room temperature before starting the recipe! This will help keep from getting "lumps" of cream cheese in the pudding base.
Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving for best results.
Mix it up and take things up a notch by using ginger snaps instead of vanilla wafers! It may sound crazy, but the depth of flavor it adds to this recipe is INCREDIBLE. Everyone will love it and wonder what the secret ingredient is!
You can also substitute crumbled vanilla wafers for the graham cracker crumbs in the crust.
