Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 7 grams instant yeast one packet
  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/2 cup warm water

Filling

Brown Sugar Glaze

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • pinch sea salt

Instructions

Make the Dough

  • In a medium bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  • Pour the warm water and melted butter into the bowl and mix well until a rough dough forms.
  • Use your hands to bring all of the ingredients together into one ball and remove to a lightly floured surface.
  • Knead the dough for 2-3 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Replace the dough in the bowl and cover with a kitchen towel. Let rise for 30 minutes.

Add Filling

  • In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Melt the one Tablespoon of butter.
  • After the 30-minute rise time, roll the dough into a 5x8" rectangle measuring about 1/4" thick.
  • Spread the melted butter over the entire surface of the dough and sprinkle on the brown sugar-cinnamon mixture.
  • Roll and cut into them into 8 equal pieces.
  • Place the rolls in a 6-inch cake pan, cover, and let rise for 5-10 minutes.
  • While the rolls are rising, make the glaze.

Mix the Glaze

  • Add the brown sugar, butter, and milk to a saucepan and continuously stir over medium heat.
  • Bring the glaze to a boil, stirring constantly, and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and allow it to cool slightly while the cinnamon rolls cook. It will thicken as it cools.
  • Remove the towel from the cinnamon rolls and cook in your air fryer at 360 degrees F for 11 minutes. No need to preheat!
  • Top with the glaze and enjoy!

Notes

Dough - If your dough feels a little dry, add more warm water 1 teaspoon at a time. After the 30-minute rise, the dough should feel softer and lighter to the touch. The cinnamon rolls will continue rising and get bigger while they bake!
Glaze - This glaze is so good! It will continue to thicken as it cools, and then thin again on the hot rolls. Serve extra on the side, and sprinkle with more sea salt for a salted caramel flavor.
Baking Pan - The small cake pan can be found in many stores or online. I've found it to be useful for other recipes as well!
Storing - Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls store well in both the refrigerator and the freezer! Place them in an airtight container and store them in the fridge for 3-4 days, or freeze them for 1-2 months.
