Cinnamon Roll Dough 2 Tablespoons active yeast 2 cups warm water 1/2 cup powdered milk 1/2 cup sugar separate out 2 Tablespoons 6 Tablespoons butter 1 3/4 teaspoon salt 6 cups flour 1 Tablespoon oil for letting dough rest Chocolate Cream Cheese Filling 8 ounces cream cheese softened 1/2 cup butter softened 1/2 cup sugar 1 large egg 3 Tablespoons cocoa powder 1 cup crumbled Oreos Cookies & Cream Icing 2 Tablespoons butter softened 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 4 Tablespoons milk 2 cups powdered sugar 1 cup crumbled Oreos
Making The Dough Dissolve the active yeast in the water.
In a mixer using a dough hook, combine the powdered milk, dissolved yeast, and 2 Tablespoons of sugar until well combined.
Add in the butter, remaining sugar, and salt.
Slowly add in the flour until well combined, forming the dough into a ball.
Place the dough on a well-floured surface.
Top with oil, cover with a towel, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Mixing The Filling Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9x13" pan.
Combine the cream cheese, butter, and sugar.
Add in the egg and cocoa powder, then mix until well combined.
Fold in the crumbled Oreos.
Baking The Cinnamon Rolls Roll out the dough to 1/4" thick on a well-floured surface.
Spread the filling to evenly cover the dough.
Roll up the dough lengthwise, then cut into ¼”-½” slices.
Place close together in the pan.
Cover with a towel and let rise for about 20-30 minutes.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until browned.
Making The Icing Mix the butter, vanilla, and milk together.
Slowly mix in the powdered sugar until well combined.
If the mixture is too thick, add a little bit of milk (1 Tablespoon at a time) until you get the desired consistency.
Let the cinnamon rolls cool for about 10 minutes, then cover with icing and top with remaining crushed Oreo pieces.
Feel free to adjust the consistency of the icing to taste by adding 1 Tablespoon of milk at a time!
