Ingredients

Apple Pie Filling Cinnamon Rolls

Apple Topping (Optional)

  • 1 medium apple cubed
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter cut into small cubes
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar

Icing (or use icing from cinnamon rolls can)

  • 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon whole milk or water

Instructions

  • Prepare the homemade cinnamon rolls dough and filling, then set in the fridge until ready to use.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Drizzle a little bit of oil over the bottom of a 7x11" casserole dish, a 9x9" baking dish, or a 10.25" cast iron skillet.
  • Pour the apple pie filling into the dish.
  • Tear the cinnamon roll dough into small pieces and add on top of the pie filling.
  • If desired, toss cubed apples with lemon juice and add on top.
  • Add the cubed butter and brown sugar over the apple pieces.
  • Bake for 30 minutes uncovered. The cinnamon rolls will be puffed up and slightly golden brown.
  • Lightly tent with foil and bake for another 15 minutes to ensure the cinnamon rolls are fully cooked through.
  • When done, let cool for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Whisk the icing ingredients together or use the icing pack that comes with the cinnamon rolls and drizzle it over the entire dish. Enjoy!
