Apple Pie Filling Cinnamon Rolls
- 5-6 large Homemade Cinnamon Rolls or store-bought cinnamon rolls
- 1 21-ounce can apple pie filling
Apple Topping (Optional)
- 1 medium apple cubed
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter cut into small cubes
- 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
Icing (or use icing from cinnamon rolls can)
- 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter melted
- 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 Tablespoon whole milk or water
Instructions
- Prepare the homemade cinnamon rolls dough and filling, then set in the fridge until ready to use.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Drizzle a little bit of oil over the bottom of a 7×11" casserole dish, a 9×9" baking dish, or a 10.25" cast iron skillet.
- Pour the apple pie filling into the dish.
- Tear the cinnamon roll dough into small pieces and add on top of the pie filling.
- If desired, toss cubed apples with lemon juice and add on top.
- Add the cubed butter and brown sugar over the apple pieces.
- Bake for 30 minutes uncovered. The cinnamon rolls will be puffed up and slightly golden brown.
