Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 4-5 strawberries fresh & ripe
  • 1/2 ounce agave syrup
  • 2 1/2 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 ounces lime juice
  • basil for garnish
  • lime wedge for rim
  • granulated sugar for rim

Instructions
 

  • Rim a glass with lime juice from a lime wedge and dip it in sugar or salt (optional for the sugar rim).
  • Blend the strawberries and agave syrup.
  • Pour into the glass with tequila, freshly squeezed orange juice, and lime juice.
  • Stir, top with basil and a lime wedge, and enjoy!

Notes

TIPS

  • If drink is too thick for you than you can boil and smash strawberries and agave syrup together, then strain and cool to create an easy strawberry syrup.
  • Very ripe strawberries for best for maximum sweetness. If your strawberries aren't very ripe just up the agave syrup to 3/4 ounce.
  • This recipe has a lower alcohol content, if you prefer you can substitute the orange juice for the same amount of Triple Sec or Cointreau.

 

TO MAKE A PITCHER:

Ingredients:
    • 16-20 ripe strawberries
    • 2 oz agave syrup (or to taste)
    • 10 oz tequila
    • 4 oz orange juice
    • 8 oz lime juice
    • Basil for garnish
    • Lime wedges + sugar or salt for rim
Instructions:
    1. Blend the strawberries and agave syrup until smooth.
    2. Pour into a pitcher with tequila, orange juice, and lime juice.
    3. Stir to combine, rim glasses, and serve over ice with basil and lime wedges.
