What is Banana Pudding Lasagna?

Don’t let the name scare you! It is TRULY one of the best, easiest summertime desserts that’s perfect for any gathering or get together. Made with a cream cheese pudding base and topped with fresh bananas and vanilla wafers, this deliciously simple layered dessert is a favorite!

Ingredients

The ingredients for this recipe are so simple and easy to find. Here’s what you’ll need:

Graham Cracker Crumbs + Butter – The crust in this recipe is simply graham cracker crumbs and butter. If you don’t have graham cracker crumbs on hand, simply blend graham crackers in a food processor to create your own!

Cream Cheese – Any type of cream cheese works great for this recipe.

Heavy Whipping Cream + Milk + Sugar – The base of the dessert! If you don’t have heavy whipping cream on hand, feel free to use regular milk instead.

Vanilla Pudding Mix – Regular vanilla or french vanilla instant pudding mix both work great!

Bananas – Bananas are sliced and layered over the pudding base.

Vanilla Wafers – Wafers are layered over the bananas for the final touch on this delicious summer dessert!

  • Banana vanilla pudding being whisked together in a mixing bowl.
  • Graham cracker crust being pressed into a casserole dish.
  • Layers of pudding, bananas, and nilla wafers in a casserole dish.

How to Make a Banana Pudding Lasagna

To make Banana Pudding Lasagna, simply:

  1. Combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter, then press into a casserole dish to create a crust.
  2. Beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Mix in the whipping cream, milk, and sugar.
  4. Make the pudding, then add it to the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Layer pudding, bananas, and vanilla wafers to create a “lasagna”.
  6. Repeat the layers one more time and refrigerate!

Note: This is our favorite casserole dish for this Banana Pudding Lasagna!

Tips: Take It Up A Notch

  • Make sure that the cream cheese is room temperature before starting the recipe! This will help keep from getting “lumps” of cream cheese in the pudding base.
  • Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving for best results.
  • Mix it up and take things up a notch by using ginger snaps instead of vanilla wafers! It may sound crazy, but the depth of flavor it adds to this recipe is INCREDIBLE. Everyone will love it and wonder what the secret ingredient is!
  • You can also substitute crumbled vanilla wafers for the graham cracker crumbs in the crust.

Storing Banana Pudding Lasagna

Cover the Banana Pudding Lasagna in an airtight wrap and store in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. You can also store the dessert overnight or even up to 12 hours before serving!
