Ingredients

  • 16 ounces brioche chopped, about 5 packed cups
  • 3 Tablespoons butter divided
  • 2 cups milk of choice
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Brown Sugar Sauce

  • 3 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • dash cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Grease an 8x8" pan (or similar size- about 2 quarts) with 1 tablespoon of the butter, melted.
  • Add in the cut-up bread.
  • Melt the other two tablespoons of butter and drizzle on top.
  • Whisk together all remaining ingredients and pour on top.
  • Bake for 45-55 minutes or until the liquid is absorbed. It will continue to set as it cools.
  • For the brown sugar sauce, melt the butter, then quickly whisk in the brown sugar so it melts into the butter. Whisk in the vanilla and cinnamon.
  • Pour on top of the bread pudding once cooked and enjoy.

Notes

Refrigerating - Store leftover bread pudding in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave or oven to enjoy that warm, soft texture again!
Freezing - You can also freeze bread pudding for up to 2 months. To freeze, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and foil. When ready to enjoy, simply thaw it in the fridge before reheating and serving.
