Christmas Rice Krispies Treats

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon almond extract or more vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 5 cups crispy rice cereal
- 2 Tablespoons holiday sprinkles
- 3/4 cup red & green M&Ms
- white chocolate drizzle optional
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large, non-stick pot over medium-low heat.
- Add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter and stir until smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, almond extract, and salt.
- Remove the pot from heat and fold in the crispy rice cereal until evenly coated.
- Let the mixture cool in the pan for about 5-7 minutes.
- Add in the holiday sprinkles and M&Ms. Gently stir to distribute them.
- Transfer the mixture to a parchment-lined baking pan. Lightly press it evenly using a spatula.
- Optionally, melt white chocolate and drizzle it over the top. Add extra holiday sprinkles and M&Ms.
- Place in the refrigerator to set for about 15-20 minutes.
