  • Unsalted Butter
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Almond Extract – or more vanilla.
  • Salt
  • Crispy Rice Cereal
  • Holiday Sprinkles
  • Red & Green M&Ms – or any type of holiday candies!
  • White Chocolate – drizzle optional

How to Make Christmas Rice Krispies Treats

While they look beautiful and festive, these Christmas Rice Krispies Treats are actually VERY easy to make! Here’s how to put this recipe together:

  1. Melt butter and marshmallows in a pot or large saucepan until smooth.
  2. Mix in vanilla extract, almond extract (or more vanilla), and salt.
  3. Fold the Rice Krispies cereal into the marshmallow mixture, then add holiday sprinkles and M&Ms.
  4. Press the mixture into a pan or baking dish lined with parchment paper, then drizzle with optional white chocolate.
  5. Allow it to set, cut into shapes, and enjoy your festive Christmas Rice Krispies Treats!

  • 8×8″ Baking Pan

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon almond extract or more vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 5 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 2 Tablespoons holiday sprinkles
  • 3/4 cup red & green M&Ms
  • white chocolate drizzle optional

Instructions
 

  • Melt the butter in a large, non-stick pot over medium-low heat.
  • Add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter and stir until smooth.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract, almond extract, and salt.
  • Remove the pot from heat and fold in the crispy rice cereal until evenly coated.
  • Let the mixture cool in the pan for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add in the holiday sprinkles and M&Ms. Gently stir to distribute them.
  • Transfer the mixture to a parchment-lined baking pan. Lightly press it evenly using a spatula.
  • Optionally, melt white chocolate and drizzle it over the top. Add extra holiday sprinkles and M&Ms.
  • Place in the refrigerator to set for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Once set, cut into squares.
  • Serve and enjoy or store for later!
