Ingredients
You’ll only need 4 simple ingredients for this recipe:
Graham Crackers – 12 rectangles (cut into halves), or 24 squares. You can use gluten-free graham crackers as an option, too!
Dark Chocolate Chips – Milk chocolate is also delicious! Easily make this recipe vegan with dairy-free chocolate chips.
Coconut Oil – The coconut oil helps smooth out the chocolate, making it the perfect texture for coating the graham crackers.
Flaky Sea Salt – Or any other toppings!
Chocolate Chips vs. Melting Chocolate
When it comes to covering desserts in chocolate, melting chocolate tends to be the easier, “better” option. However, we’re using chocolate chips with coconut oil instead since these are items that are typically already stored in your pantry and we think that the flavor is much better!
If you decide to use melting chocolate wafers instead, be sure to omit the oil in this recipe and melt the chocolate according to package directions.
Other Topping Ideas
There are so many ways to top Chocolate Dipped Graham Crackers! Here are a few ideas:
- Sprinkles
- Chopped Walnuts
- White Chocolate Drizzle
- Caramel Sauce
- Mini Marshmallows
- Peanut Butter Drizzle
- Crumbled Pretzels
- Peppermint Pieces
- Freeze-Dried Strawberries
- Drizzle of Excess Chocolate
Another idea is to dip the crackers in “layers” before freezing (such as honey or peanut butter), then coat them in chocolate!
How to Make Chocolate-Covered Graham Crackers
We love how easy this chocolatey dessert can be! Here’s how to make Chocolate-Covered Graham Crackers in 5 simple steps:
- Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil together in the microwave, stirring every 15 to 20 seconds until smooth.
- Dip each graham cracker square into the melted chocolate, coating evenly.
- Set each square on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and add toppings.
- Place in the freezer for 20 minutes to set.
- Enjoy or store them for later!
Tip: These can also be set at room temperature, but it takes much longer (about 1 hour). So we recommend setting them in the freezer or fridge! This also prevents condensation from happening if you’re setting them out for a party.
How to Store
Chocolate-Covered Graham Crackers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 5-7 days or the freezer for up to 3 months! When ready to enjoy, let them thaw a bit in the fridge before eating.
