This is hands-down the best Whipped Honey Butter recipe! Not only is it incredibly easy to make (less than 5 minutes), but it only requires 2 simple ingredients. I love keeping this honey butter on hand to add to warm biscuits, cornbread, pancakes, or just about anything! If you love the melt-in-your-mouth butter from Texas Roadhouse, this homemade version will become your new go-to.

Why You’ll Love This Honey Butter Recipe

I originally created this Honey Butter to go with my Homemade Cornbread recipe, but it was way too good not to share as its own recipe! After much testing, the taste and texture is honestly perfect and SO delicious on everything. Here’s why you’ll love it:

  • 2 Ingredients: All you need is butter and honey. That’s it!
  • Quick & Easy: Takes just 1-2 minutes to whip up.
  • Creamy & Fluffy: The texture is so light and spreadable.
  • Perfectly Sweet: A delicious balance of salted butter and golden honey. What could possibly be better?
  • Versatile: Use it on toast, muffins, pancakes, waffles, or even roasted veggies!

Ingredients

Literally just 2 ingredients. That’s all you’ll need!

  • Salted Butter – Softened to room temperature for easy whipping. You can also use unsalted butter and add a pinch of salt for balance.
  • Honey – Adjust the amount to taste. Start with one tablespoon and add more if you like it sweeter!

TIP: The key to making the BEST whipped honey butter is to use high-quality butter! This butter is my favorite for making homemade honey butter.

Optional Add-Ins

  • Cinnamon – For a warm, spiced flavor.
  • Vanilla Extract – A very tiny amount adds just the right amount of flavor for sweeter treats.
  • Maple Syrup – Swap or mix with honey for a deeper flavor.
2 ingredients for homemade honey butter recipe.

How to Make Honey Butter

All you’ll need is 5 minutes (or less), a mixing bowl, and a hand mixer to get started. Here’s how to make homemade honey butter:

  1. Place the softened butter in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Drizzle in the honey.
  3. Using a hand mixer on medium-high speed, whip for about 1-2 minutes until it’s light and fluffy.
  4. Spread it on anything you like – it’s so good!

Tips for the Best Whipped Honey Butter

  • Use Room Temperature Butter – Cold butter won’t whip properly.
  • Whip Long Enough – This gives it that light, airy texture.
  • Customize the Sweetness – Add more or less honey based on your preference.
  • Store Properly – Keep it in an airtight container to maintain freshness.

Variations

Texas Roadhouse Honey Cinnamon Butter

Love that famous cinnamon honey butter? This is honestly one of my favorite variations. Add ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract to this recipe!

Dairy-Free Honey Butter

For a dairy-free version, use vegan butter instead of traditional butter.

How to Serve Honey Butter

Now for the best part….what to serve honey butter on! The options are truly limitless. But here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Sugar Biscuits
  • Cornbread
  • Pancakes – Cornbread Pancakes, Strawberry Pancakes, or Lemon Blueberry Pancakes
  • Waffles
  • Toasted Bread
  • Muffins – Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins, Pistachio Muffins, or Apple Cider Muffins
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Buttermilk French Toast
  • Bagels
  • Roasted Veggies

How to Store

  • Room Temperature: Store in an airtight container for up to 1-2 days.
  • Refrigerator: Keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Let it soften at room temperature before using!
  • Freezer: Freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge the night before serving.
