Is Kahlua or Baileys Better for Espresso Martinis?

Kahlúa brings a rich coffee flavor with a touch of sweetness, while Baileys adds a creamy and smooth texture with delicious whiskey undertones. In this recipe we’re using Kahlúa, but both are great options! For a fun twist, consider combining both. Experiment with these liqueurs to find the ideal blend that makes for the perfect cocktail!

How to Make a Chocolate Espresso Martini

It truly doesn’t get any easier than this Chocolate Espresso Martini! Here’s how to put it together in just 5 minutes:

  1. Brew the espresso, set aside and let cool.
  2. Rim the glass with chocolate syrup and/or chocolate shavings (optional)!
  3. Combine vodka, Kahlúa, chocolate liqueur, vanilla, chocolate sauce, and espresso with ice in a cocktail shaker.

Recipe Tips/Notes

  • We love using the Nespresso machine to quickly brew a shot of espresso for cocktails!
  • Strong coffee or brewed espresso powder work great, too.
  • Feel free to adjust the chocolate rim on the glass to taste. You can rim the entire thing with chocolate sauce and chocolate shavings, or just add a little bit to one section.
