Blended Mango Margaritas

With the sun shining and temperatures rising, there’s nothing quite like a refreshing, icy drink to cool things down. Tangy, fruity, and easy, my Frozen Margarita recipe is the best summer treat that you can whip up in minutes!

It’s great for those lazy afternoons by the pool, gathering with friends, or simply when you crave a fruity cocktail to pair with salsa, guacamole, and chips.

Ingredients in Frozen Mango Margaritas

You will love how simple the ingredients are in this summer cocktail! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Tequila – Tequila is the alcohol typically used in margaritas. I used tequila blanco, or silver tequila in this recipe, but you can substitute it with gold tequila or even anejo tequila. They have a little more flavor as they’re aged before bottling.
  • Triple Sec – An orange liqueur, is a traditional margarita ingredient. It doesn’t overpower the mango flavor, and helps the drink taste like a margarita! Substitute with Cointreau.
  • Lime Juice – Fresh squeezed or bottled could both work for this recipe. The lime juice adds the perfect tang and tartness to the margarita.
  • Agave – Did you know tequila is made from the agave plant? It makes perfect sense to use agave syrup as the sweetener in the mango cocktail! Maple syrup, simple syrup, and honey could all be used in a 1:1 replacement. Adjust the sweetness by adding more to the mixture.
  • Frozen Mango – Frozen mango is pretty common in the frozen food section of most grocery stores, but you can absolutely use fresh mangoes, cut into cubes, and freeze the cubed mango. Depending on the size of the mangoes, you will need approximately 2-3.
  • Ice – Ice thickens the drink and gives it that thick, frozen texture that is so satisfying when it’s hot.

How to Make Easy Frozen Margaritas

All you need is a high-speed blender, and these amazing mango margaritas are ready in no time! Here’s how to make them:

Pitcher Margaritas (4 Servings)

  1. Add the mango margarita ingredients except the ice to the blender and blend until silky smooth.
  2. Add the ice, blend, and repeat for thicker margaritas.
  3. Pour into a glass, garnish, and enjoy!

Single-Serving Margarita

This blender recipe makes 4 servings, but it’s also easy to make a single-serving mango margarita with the recipe below in a smaller cup attachment on the blender:

  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • 1 Tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 Tablespoon light agave
  • 3/4 cup frozen mango chunks (about 6 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup ice

Blend all of the ingredients together except for the ice. Blend again with the ice until thick!

Mango Margaritas on the Rocks

Sometimes I prefer my drinks over ice, instead of blended into a smoothie-type consistency. Doing that with this recipe is so easy! Here’s how to make Mango Margaritas on the rocks:

  1. Add everything to the blender, and blend until silky smooth.
  2. Add 3-4 ice cubes to a cute tropical glass.
  3. Pour the cocktail into the glasses, garnish, and serve!

Garnish Ideas

Garnishes are not only cute and fun, but they’re also a great way to add even more flavor pops to your Frozen Mango Margarita! Here are a few ideas:

  • Fresh Mango Slice
  • Lime Wedge
  • Edible Flowers
  • Cilantro Sprig
  • Chili-Lime Rim
  • Salt Rim
  • Sugar Rim or Salt Rim
  • Fresh Berries
  • Candied Jalapeños
  • Pineapple slice
  • Watermelon Slice
  • Cocktail Umbrellas
  • Mint Sprig
