recipe tips & pairings
- Strawberry Syrup – Substitute the sugar for the low-calorie sweetener of your choice if you want to make it lower sugar. I also love making this a day or two ahead so it’s ready to go when it’s time to make the drinks.
- Straining the Drink – The muddled strawberries tend to jam up the cocktail shaker, so slowly pouring your drink through a fine mesh strainer over the glass works best!
- Toppings – Chocolate shavings, white or dark chocolate sauce, crumbled freeze-dried strawberries, dried rose petals, or whipped cream would all be delicious additions to this cocktail. A pink sugar rim would be so cute, too!
- Pairings – Any chocolatey desserts would be so tasty alongside this Valentine’s Day Cocktail – Tiramisu Cupcakes, Christmas Chocolate Truffles, or Chocolate Chess Pie.
