Valentine’s Day Cocktail recipe

This Valentine’s Day Cocktail is so good! The muddled fresh strawberries are combined with an easy-to-make strawberry simple syrup to give a double boost to the strawberry taste. Vanilla vodka and plain vodka are combined to balance the flavors and smooth everything out.

Shaking this cocktail with an egg white provides a perfect texture and frothiness and brings all the flavors together! Sip this strawberry vanilla cocktail in a glass with chocolate shavings, freeze-dried strawberries, and/or a drizzle of chocolate syrup for a sweet Valentine’s treat!

How to Make a Valentine’s Day Cocktail

1. Make the Simple Syrup

Simmer the strawberries, sugar, and water for 20 minutes. Strain the syrup and let it cool completely.

2. Combine Ingredients in a Cocktail Shaker

Add all of the ingredients along with a handful of ice cubes into the cocktail shaker. Shake VIGOROUSLY for 1 minute. The egg-white magic happens during this time!

3. Strain Into a Glass and Garnish

Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the drink into your glass slowly. Top the drink with a sprinkle of chocolate shavings, crumbled freeze-dried strawberries, and/or syrup. Serve and Enjoy!

recipe tips & pairings

  • Strawberry Syrup – Substitute the sugar for the low-calorie sweetener of your choice if you want to make it lower sugar. I also love making this a day or two ahead so it’s ready to go when it’s time to make the drinks.
  • Straining the Drink – The muddled strawberries tend to jam up the cocktail shaker, so slowly pouring your drink through a fine mesh strainer over the glass works best!
  • Toppings – Chocolate shavings, white or dark chocolate sauce, crumbled freeze-dried strawberries, dried rose petals, or whipped cream would all be delicious additions to this cocktail. A pink sugar rim would be so cute, too!
  • Pairings – Any chocolatey desserts would be so tasty alongside this Valentine’s Day Cocktail – Tiramisu Cupcakes, Christmas Chocolate Truffles, or Chocolate Chess Pie.
