Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte Recipe

As the temperatures start falling, dreams of seasonal beverages and the Starbucks fall menu begin. I love starting crisp mornings with a Maple Pecan Latte or Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. The comforting flavors are such a treat and the best way to start a beautiful, crisp fall morning.

Fall always means 2 things to me – pumpkin and chai! What’s better than a Starbucks Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai to get into the cozy autumn, vibe? Making one at home, of course! I love how easy and quick this recipe is, and I know you’ll love it, too.

TIP: Pair it with a Baked Apple Croissant or Cinnamon Streusel Muffins!

Ingredients in a Starbucks Iced Pumpkin Chai

Even though this chai latte tastes next-level, it only requires a few really simple ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need:

Iced Chai Latte

  • Chai Concentrate – The concentrates are ready to go and flavor-packed. You’ll add milk to it, but typically they come already sweetened so there’s no need for extra sugar.
  • Milk – Use your favorite milk in the drink, or whatever you have on hand. I like using 2% milk in this chai.

Pumpkin Cream Cold Foam

  • Pumpkin Puree – Plain pumpkin puree is used for the pumpkin cold foam. The real pumpkin flavor and the creamy, thick texture add so much to this beverage. You’ll love it.
  • Heavy Cream – The cold foam requires a base of thick, full-fat milk. I have found that heavy cream does work best because it gets nice and thick with the frother, but you could substitute with whole milk or half-and-half as well.
  • Milk – The little bit of milk thins out the ingredients for the cold foam just enough to use the frother easily.
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice – Add this tasty spice to the cold foam, and then sprinkle just a little bit more on top!

How to Make an Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Latte

If you don’t have a milk frother at home, you can add the ingredients to a smaller blender cup and blend on high speed until thick and frothy. Follow these easy steps to make this yummy fall drink:

  1. Add ice, chai concentrate, and milk to a tall glass.
  2. In another glass or mason jar with high sides, combine the remaining ingredients.
  3. Use a frother to froth the ingredients until they are thick and frothy.
  4. Pour the pumpkin cold foam on top of the chai latte, sprinkle with a bit of pumpkin pie spice, and serve!

Variations for Copycat STarbucks Pumpkin Chai

  • Make it Dairy-Free – Swap the milk for dairy-free milk like cashew, oat milk, or almond milk. For the heavy whipping cream substitute, I suggest using a barista-style oat milk for a thick and creamy non-dairy alternative.
  • Make it a Dirty Chai Latte – Add a little more caffeine and flavor to this cozy beverage with a shot or two of espresso or 1/3 cup of strongly brewed coffee.
  • Adjust the Sweetness – Chai concentrates are often already sweetened but you can find products that either have a lower sweetness amount or are completely unsweetened. Swap with one of those if you like things a little lighter on sugar.
  • Make a Batch – Hosting a few people? You can easily make it for 4. Add 2 cups of chai concentrate and 1 cup of milk to a pitcher and stir. Divide that mixture between 4 glasses of iced. To a blender, add 1 cup pumpkin puree, 1 cup heavy cream, 1/4 cup milk, and 1 1/2 Tablespoons pumpkin spice. Blend on high speed until it’s thick and frothy, and gently pour the sweet cream over each glass.
